The hourly rates shown are the published service rates for each provider, drawn from the My Aged Care register and Department of Health price lists. For Trilogy Care, the saving figures across this site are calculated after the self-coordination fee is applied, so the number you see reflects the real cost to you. Some providers add coordination, management or administration loadings on top of the worker hour, and where a provider publishes those they are included in the comparison. Your own service agreement always sets out the full list of fees and charges before you sign anything, so check it against the figure here.

Should I wait to be assessed if I think I might need care?

It is usually better not to wait. An assessment through My Aged Care is the first step to accessing funded Support at Home, and assessment wait times mean the sooner you start, the sooner support can begin. Being assessed does not commit you to anything or lock you into a provider. It simply confirms what funding and services you are eligible for, so you can plan with real numbers. How do I know the price comparison isn't biased toward Trilogy Care?

Trilogy Care operates this site, and we say so on every page, including this one. The comparison stays honest because the methodology is open. Same data sources (the My Aged Care register, around 145,000 Support at Home service interactions per refresh), same calculation, and the same ranking pipeline applied to Trilogy Care as to every other provider. Who runs HomeCare Prices?

Trilogy Care runs HomeCare Prices. Trilogy Care is an approved Support at Home provider founded in 2020 by James Whitelaw. We list Trilogy Care the same way as every other provider in the comparison, using the same data and the same ranking calculation. There is no separate listing rule for Trilogy Care.

How does HomeCare Prices make money?

HomeCare Prices is free for visitors. There are no quote forms, no lead-sale, no commercial agreements that affect provider ranking. Trilogy Care funds the site as a service to families researching home care. If a visitor decides to call Trilogy Care after seeing the comparison, that is the only commercial outcome. Calling another provider works just as well.

How often is the data refreshed?

Every 12 weeks. Each refresh pulls the latest published rates from the My Aged Care register and Department of Health price lists, then runs the same ranking and validation pipeline. Each page shows the last refresh date so you can see how current the figures are.

What does Support at Home actually mean for me, day-to-day?

Accepted Answer

You stay in control of who comes into your home and when. We handle the paperwork (claims, regulatory checks, the police-vetted provider directory) and a care partner reviews your needs throughout the year. You are in charge of the dollars, we are in charge of the admin. If you don't want to choose your own workers, we can help with that too.

How much can switching from a full-service package to Trilogy Care actually save?

For cleaning at the typical Brisbane rate, around $79 per hour. Spread across a Level 3 SAH package using a few hours a week, that is in the order of $12,000 a year. Put differently, about 180 extra hours of help on the same government funding. Your real saving depends on your suburb and which services you use. The calculator on the site (or a quick call) gives you the postcode-specific figure.

What does Trilogy Care charge in fees?

Trilogy Care's self-coordination fee is taken as a percentage of your SAH package, significantly lower than the coordination and admin loadings a full-service provider applies on top of every worker hour. The fee is disclosed in your service agreement before you sign anything, and the saving figures shown across this site are computed after the Trilogy Care fee is applied.

What happens after I call?

A specialist confirms your suburb, your SAH level, and which services you use, then walks you through the saving in plain numbers. No obligation. If you decide to switch, we handle the transfer of your existing care arrangements. Your workers usually stay the same. If you don't decide, you don't hear from us again.

Do I keep my existing workers if I switch?

Usually, yes. Most workers welcome the change because self-managed providers pay them a higher hourly rate. We confirm with each worker as part of the transfer process and only proceed once you have agreed.

What about my current care plan?

Accepted Answer

We can keep your existing care plan as-is, or update it to match your current needs. If you transfer mid-package, your funding balance and any approved supports move with you.

Will my current provider charge an exit fee?

Accepted Answer

Under Support at Home rules, providers can only recover their reasonable costs to close your file. They cannot charge a separate exit fee. Most exits take effect within two weeks of your written notice.
